Mrs. Bimla Devi is an example of what individual and small efforts can do to bring in big a difference in the life of cancer victims and in preventing cancer. Convinced by the fact that cancer needs to be prevented and detected at the earliest to minimise the sufferings. Bimla Devi thought of collecting small amounts . She believed that Rs. 100 (About $2) is a reasonable amount for contribution even for a lower-middle class family. Motivated by this idea she was able to convince about 30 people (Mostly family and friends) to regularly contribute Rs. 100 towards a cancer-fund corpus which could be used for spreading awareness, early detection of cancer and as support for cancer victims. Over the period Bimla Devi has collected over Rs. 2,50,000/(as the initial corpus) which is now been managed by 'Servants of The People Society, Chandigarh.' Cancer Free World and Burning Brain Society now supports Bimla Devi the initiative and would request you to make further contribution to the cancer control corpus.If you feel for the cause you can send your cheque/ draft directly to 'Servants of the People Society, Chandigarh' (Please mention that the funds are intended for Bimla Devi Cancer Control Corpus.)
